The Best Beaches In The World For 2024

Everyone has their own idea of what makes the perfect beach, but a new ranking names the top ones in the world. The 2024 edition of the World’s 50 Best Beaches, sponsored by Banana Boat, is now out.

  • The annual list is determined by votes from more than a thousand travel professionals, including journalists and travel influencers.
  • They rate the beaches on eight factors: unique characteristics, wildlife, untouched, soundtrack of nature, easy to enter water, often calm water, not too crowded and frequency of idyllic conditions.
  • This year’s best beach in the world is Trunk Bay in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • This Caribbean coast is known for soft white sand and crystal-clear water, but it stands out from other beaches because it’s located within the Virgin Islands National Park, so there are no resorts or buildings distracting from the natural greenery surrounding it.
  • The top 50 list includes three other U.S. beaches: Hawaii’s Lanikai Beach is 14th, Kapalua Bay Beach, also in Hawaii, is 40th, and Florida’s Henderson Beach is number 44.
