The Devil Comet Could Be Visible to The Naked Eye Very Soon

There is another celestial event besides the solar eclipse next month. The “devil comet” could be visible to the naked eye around the time of the eclipse. The Pons-Brooks comet is “cryovolcanic” and has explosions of gas and ice, which is part of the reason it was given its nickname. Here’s what you need to know about viewing it: The comet is currently visible from the Northern Hemisphere at dusk near the western horizon. For now, binoculars or a telescope are required to see it. By next week, it could be bright enough to see with the naked eye from some locations, and will continue to brighten until its closest pass to the sun on April 21. The devil comet makes a pass every 71 years.
