Sometime next Friday afternoon this 150 foot wide bad boy will pass by us. We here in the United States won't see it however folks in Asia, Australia might with binoculars or telescope. Even then it's going pretty fast (17,400 MPH) or eight times faster then a bullet from a high speed rifle so they will have to look quick. NASA scientist say there is no way it can hit us, what they have to say about it is at this link. Incidentally it is only 17,100 miles away from us, in comparison some of our highest orbiting satellites are 22,300 miles up so yeah a near miss would be an accurate description. By the way if it did hit, the equivalent of 2.4 million tons of tnt would be unleashed wiping out somewhere around 750 square miles. Incidentally one of these slide by us roughly every 40 years. Nature, ain't it Neat....
