The people of the Shenandoah Valley amaze me...Check out Phil Dodson despite all he has been through still finds it in his heart to donate to Blue Ridge Area Food Bank's Stuff A Truck...His story is below as relayed by good Fox Friends Chris and Rosie at Clear Channel's Q102
We were about to leave the air this morning when we got a call from Phil Dodson, who said he had "a little bit of food" for our Stuff-A-Truck food drive this Friday, but he "didn't have a place to store it"... It turns out he doesn't. You may remember from our news last week...Phil's house was the one that burned last Monday night. Here's a guy with nothing~ No home: his family is scattered among relatives in the county. No job: He was fired Monday because he couldn't get to work while finding a safe place for each of his children (and pets) to stay. ~ and he wanted to help people who were less fortunate than himself! Phil's generosity comes from having a life just like yours: house, happy family, pets with treats in the cabinet...to having only the shirt on his back and those he loves scattered under different roofs. He told us he "now knows what it's like to need" and wanted to show others the generosity he saw from his community during his time of need. By the way, if you have a mechanical position open in your company, consider Phil. He's worked landscaping, Diesel Mechanic, and some body work, and says he'll learn any job he can...he wants to get his family back together. We can connect you to Phil, email Rosie@Q102.com. You can help others who are not as fortunate as you are by bringing a donation this Friday to our Stuff-A-Truck food drive at Walmart on Pleasant Valley. The need has never been greater: They're serving twice as many people (that includes kids) as they did 5 years ago. Here's a list of the most-needed foods: Everything You need to know about the food drive is at this link...Thank You in Advance and Thank You Phil Dodson for Your Amazing Generosity!
